Background: C-41Express was opened in March of 1998. Although it was a simple operation of only one machine and one staff member, the main focus was always clear. To provide professional quality prints to the professional photographer and experienced amateur. This meant establishing a name, quickly as a confident lab operated by experienced technicians. |
| After the first 18months, C-41 had achieved it’s first goals and that was to gain the respect of some very well known wedding and portrait studios. Now with a loyal client base C-41 had the confidence to expand and move into the digital era. It took on the elite of digital printing machines, Durst and was set up as the demonstration site for the 30” epsilon printer. This added to the recognition already being received throughout the industry and in just over 2 years of operation, C-41 Express had doubled in size, had 4 full time staff and the printing facility to take its client base into the future of Digital output and Digital Capture. | |
| Today C-41 Express has changed its
name to C-41 Digital, and continued to grow steadily through a very
“rollercoaster-like” time within the photographic industry. It has three of the most superior digital printing machines available in today’s market, a fantastic new internet upload service and print online, enhanced by a graphic design team, and some of the most experienced photographic printing technicians within the industry. |

|
Experience: C-41 Digital’s main operators are business owners and team leaders Mark Blinkhorne and Clayton Walker. These two photographic technicians have a combined experience of more than 32 years and have worked together for various leading photographic manufacturers. Their experience both photographically and with the day to day running of a business is the sole ingredient for C-41 Express’ evolution into C-41 Digital. There have been many new introductions and products in the photographic industry in the past 7 years, but neither Mark nor Clayton have ever swayed far from the roots. Printing quality photos and giving the clients the kind of customer service they deserve. “You do need experience, to know that customers demand high standards. That’s what a pro-lab is” Goal: At most photographic labs and photo outlets quality comes at a price, or the quality is sacrificed for a quicker than normal turnaround however, at C-41 you get all 3- Quality, price and service. Technology has played a huge part in C-41 Digital achieving it’s goals. The machines are faster, the output quality is far superior compared with film and early day digital. You just have to know how to put it all together. “Our aim was to secure great working relationships with some of the most awarded and respected photographers within the photographic industry. Not only have we achieved this but we have also made some fantastic friendships along the way.” These clients have helped us become a recognised business throughout Australia. |
